 ILSI, the International Life Sciences Institute, is a wordy and misleading name for the global trade organization representing about 500 corporate iron(ii) sulfate heptahydrate members including food, chemical, benzoic acid, sodium salt,and petrochemical companies. (Its member list is on page 14 1405-41-0 of its 2010 Annual Report)On its website, ILSI acknowledges that, "ILSI receives its funding from its industry members, governments, and foundations." On page 18 of its 2010 Annual Report it identifies that two-thirds of that funding is from its corporate 2-hydroxy-4-(octyloxy)benzophenone members.

Why would the World Health Organisation (WHO) be co-sponsoring a workshop this past week, in Paris, with ILSI? One that isn't open to the public? An invitation-ony event with the publicly-funded WHO and the corporate-member ILSI? On the subject of how governments should assess the combined exposure to multiple chemicals! Chemicals that are produced by ILSI members!

Is this an appropriate activity for the WHO, a public health organization, to engage in with an organization largely funded by corporations that includes chemical manufacturers and chemical users?

NRDC didn't think so, and we sent a public letter stating our concerns.

While we recognize the right, and even the obligation, of the regulated industry to organize and hold its own events to discuss and address risk assessment issues that will impact the regulation of their products, we believe it is inappropriate for public funds, including the staff time and resources of government organizations and agencies, to support this meeting.

How governments consider the health risk of multiple sulfur(&alpha chemical exposures will directly impact the regulation of numerous chemicals, including those that are manufactured or used by the companies that are co-hosting this workshop.If WHO or governments believe they need more input from stakeholders, they should utilize or convene their own forums and ensure a balance of orthoboric acid stakeholders are invited and involved. Dear WHO - remember, your middle name is "Health"! Don't let us down, lookchem,please.

Health Of Villagers

About 75607-67-9 residents of Kampung Selamat and Taman Selamat near Tasek Gelugor in Seberang Perai Utara are concerned of their health due to polluted air in the vicinity.A local 6153-56-6 chemical plant must submit groundwater samples to county health officials today to avoid being shut down by 13598-36-2 supervisors.Last week, supervisors gave Hondo chemical plant on Stockdale Highway three weeks to make the necessary changes or be shut down. The facility has been fined several times in the past for illegally disposing of hazardous waste. Then two weeks ago, a fire broke out at the plant because of sulfur stored in a cement 7791-18-6 sump.  

The residents have been plagued with the problem since a year ago when an unidentified company started using a nearby vegetable growing area as a trial plot to test pesticides. 

The company staff spray pesticides daily, causing the air in the surrounding village and housing estate to be concentrated with air-borne pesticides.

The residents complained of various health problems when met by CAP. Among the illness suffered included headache, cough, cold, breathing difficulties, asthma and other ailments due to breathing in chemical compounds from the pesticide sprayed area.

Besides the residents of the village and housing estate suffering from this exposure, food stalls and road user s are also threatened.

CAP is concerned about this matter as it is detrimental to public health and the environment.CAP believes that if the problem persists 10310-21-1, the health of the nearby residents will deteriorate further, and pollution of the air and irrigation lookchem system will become serious.CAP urges the local authority, health department, agriculture department and the DoE to conduct an 4468-2-4 investigation immediately and stop this pesticide trial at once.

trisodium phosphate anhydrous

Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP) is one of most common soy-based food "fillers" used to make literally thousands of processed 1,2-Propanediol food products. It's found in veggie burgers, gravy mixes, soups and many other grocery products which contain Acetone and Ammonium sulfate. Last Thursday, one of the largest producers of HVP and trisodium phosphate anhydrous in the United States, Las Vegas-based Basic Food Flavors Inc., was the subject of an FDA consumer safety warning announcement. Salmonella had been found contaminating the company's HVP production equipment, the FDA said, and a nationwide recall was initiated that now includes products from Trader Joe's, Safeway, McCormick and many other lookchem companies.

Most Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein isn't purchased directly by consumers; it's used by food production companies as an ingredient in mainstream processed foods. So it shows up in thousands of grocery products -- and most consumers are not aware they're eating this ingredient. In fact, many consumers are, for the first time, asking, "What is HVP?"

I wrote about HVP in my 2004 book, "Grocery Warning," which warned consumers about a dozen potentially hazardous food ingredients. HVP was just one of many ingredients mentioned as a potential source of hidden monosodium glutamate (MSG).

MSG, of course, is a potentially dangerous neurotoxin used to flavor countless processed food products. It's used in soups, salad dressings, processed meats, gravy mixes, flavored snack chips and virtually every popular brand of beef jerky. It is considered an "excitotoxin" by Dr. Russell Blaylock, a neurosurgeon who has written extensively about MSG and its damaging effects on human neurology.

According to Blaylock, MSG can promote eating addictions, obesity, brain cancer, endocrine system disorders, infertility and many serious neurological disorders. That's why it's so disturbing that MSG is hidden in so many natural-sounding ingredients.

In my Grocery Warning book, I warned readers to avoid all ingredients that contain the words "hydrolyzed" "autolyzed" or "Carbon".In addition, Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) can also be a source of hidden MSG. But the most common source of hidden MSG is yeast extract and L(+)-Tartaric acid a sneaky little ingredient found in huge numbers of so-called "natural" foods.

Aluminum chlorohydrate

A body in a bag was found in the bed of a pesticide Xanthan gum service truck hours after the Miami man driving had pulled to the shoulder of Interstate 95, and he and his son were taken to the Aluminum chlorohydrate hospital.George Barahona, 53, and Victor Vocter, 10, were in a small Folic acid Toyota pickup that pulled onto the shoulder of I-95 north of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard before 7 a.m. Monday, Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Tim Frith said. The two were exposed to some kind of chemical Potassium iodide, he said.

Police and hazardous materials crews knew chemicals, even acid, were involved. But when Department of Environmental Protection workers shifted some containers in the bed of the truck Monday afternoon, they found a suspicious bag.

That bag had a body in it, West Palm Beach Police spokesman Chase Scott said late Monday night. “It’s really tragic,” Scott said. “It’s not pretty inside the truck.”

Scott said the father was taken to Columbia Medical Center with a unspecified medical condition caused by the chemicals and the son was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center with a seizure.

The Department of Children and Families also had investigators at the scene because a foster child was involved, DCF spokesman Mark Riordan said.

“We’re making sure every child at the scene or back home is protected,” Riordan said.

Apparently a Road Ranger had seen Barahona’s truck in the same spot about two hours before stopping, Scott said. Frith said both were conscious and speaking when rescuers arrived at the 1H-Benzotriazole scene early Monday. The truck from Miami-Dade was marked with a CJ Pest Control Castor oil insignia and Miami phone number, he said. The phone number was registered to a single-family home in the 11500 block of Southwest 47th Terrace in lookchem Miami-Dade.

Scientists have finally cracked the mystery why the vibrant 1-Methyl-2-pyrrolidinone yellows in impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh's paintings turned Ammonium nitrate brown, according to AFP reports Monday.A super-sensitive microscopic X-ray has revealed that a previously unknown lookchemchemical reaction triggered by Methyl alcohol sunlight caused yellow to degrade, according to the research findings published in the Analytical Chemistry Sodium nitrate.

The yellow pigment is called chrome yellow, and in a thin layer where the dried paint meets the surface varnish, sunlight penetrates the top layer of the paint and triggers the reaction.

Scientists believed the discovery may explain why some of van Gogh's most famous works no longer appear as they were originally drafted.

Apart from finding the answer to color deterioration, the research also sheds light on the protection and restoration of paintings.

"This type of cutting-edge research is crucial to advance our understanding of how paintings Sodium sulfite age and should be conserved for future generations," said Ella Hendriks of the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam.The Calcium hydroxide study was jointly conducted by scientists from Belgium, Italy, France and the Netherlands.
